Courtney's Perspective on Law Firm Operations
Throughout her work in legal environments, Courtney encountered recurring operational challenges across different firms and practice areas. Responsibilities often flowed back to leadership, workflows lacked clear ownership, and decisions became bottlenecks even when capable people were available to do the work.
These patterns shaped her approach to operational consulting: recurring problems deserve more than repeated fixes. They require an understanding of the structure, responsibilities, and decision-making processes behind them.
This perspective informs the Legacy Stability Framework, which examines five operational areas: Visibility, Ownership, Authority, Accountability, and Capacity.

The Story Behind Legacy Contracts
My respect for the legal profession began before my first full-time role at a law firm.
While pursuing my Associate's Degree in Pre-Law, I completed a law firm internship that gave me firsthand exposure to legal operations, client service, and the day-to-day realities of legal practice. That experience confirmed that I was drawn not only to the law itself, but also to the organization, problem-solving, and coordination required to support it effectively.
After earning my degree in 2015, I began working at a debt collection law firm. Over the years, I gained experience supporting attorneys and legal teams across multiple practice areas, including debt collection, personal injury, and complex litigation support.
As I moved through different legal environments, I began to recognize patterns that extended beyond individual tasks or departments. Unclear responsibilities, communication breakdowns, workflow bottlenecks, and decisions that repeatedly returned to leadership often reflected a larger operational challenge.
I became increasingly interested in how firms could address these issues through intentional structure rather than relying on constant intervention to keep work moving.
That interest ultimately led me to establish Legacy Contracts LLC in 2021. I wanted to help law firms examine the operational systems behind their work, identify what was creating friction, and develop practical ways to strengthen how their practices function.
Today, that purpose continues to guide my work: helping law firm leaders build operations that support their people, their responsibilities, and the future they want for their firms.
